A few more sheep and here is the Alpine Goat. Life size or a little smaller. The casting in white earthenware slip and firing to stoneware temperature seems to work, but the piece shrinks quite a lot. About 15 percent I think. A very hard vitrified bone china finish which I like.

Gilding has started - Gary did a small test section of gold leaf underneath the calf this morning and it is looking fantastic, properly shiny. I have booked the calf in for an extra nice bespoke crate to be made by Ian at HMC Logistics, who do also great shipping service, next week.
